My name is Tara Dye and I am running for District 3 Supervisor. I grew up in Finney and I have lived in the Spring City area of Cleveland for almost twenty years now. My husband and I have two wonderful little boys and we are members of Gracewood Community Church.
Throughout my life, I have seen good jobs pack up and leave, our population take a massive down turn and our local leaders sit back and watch. I have seen local representatives pack boards with their family and friends, without taking into consideration whether or not they were the best choice.
We need local representation that is willing to go after and secure businesses that will offer long term, good paying careers for Russell County citizens.
If elected, I will focus on transparency and accountability within our local government. It should be easy for anyone to see where money is spent and why we are spending it. We need supervisors who are willing to admit when they are wrong and be humble representatives of the people.
We must rein in spending and make every dollar count. Since we are losing population, the tax base is decreasing. We either cut spending or we will have to raise taxes and the taxpayer is already burdened enough with current policies and inflation.
In today’s fast paced world, issues and problems evolve quickly. That’s why we need a proactive board, determined to keep Russell County above the fray and protected against potential threats.
This is where I have chosen to raise my family. I would love for my children to have the option to raise their families here as well. I want to do my best to make Russell County a better place, not just for my family but for yours too.
